Models are known for their creative monikers—Twiggy, Veruschka, and Querelle among them—but few beauties have names as fitting as newcomer Nirvana Naves, known as much for her serene presence on the runway as her calm beauty. Opening J.W.Anderson’s Spring show and earning a spot on the catwalk for Prada, Naves is at the start of a season that is both selective and high profile. For the economics student and first-time catwalker, the experience has been surreal. “I could not believe it when I was chosen to open J.W.Anderson’s show,” says Naves. “I was asking an assistant if I was walking the show, and she said, ‘I think so, you fitted the first look.’ I was still a bit hesitant because fashion is so turbulent you never know what is going to happen, but once I saw the final lineup with my face on the first look, it felt incredible.”
